This program provides industry-specific accounting training focused on Chart of Accounts (COA) design, transaction classification, and audit-defensible posting discipline for U.S. Government Contracting environments. 8.0 CPE Credit Hours

 

What Will You Learn?

  • Design and evaluate a GovCon-ready COA that supports contract accounting, indirect rates, and audit trails
  • Correctly classify costs as direct vs indirect, and allocate indirect costs to the correct pool (Fringe, Overhead, G&A)
  • Identify and segregate unallowable costs and ensure they are excluded from indirect rate pools
  • Apply consistent classification logic for labor, subcontractors, travel/ODCs, and shared resources
  • Correctly account for billings and contract balances (AR, unbilled, contract assets, deferred revenue/billings in excess)
  • Apply audit-defensible reasoning to common DCAA finding patterns caused by COA misclassification
  • Demonstrate professional judgment under scrutiny by selecting the correct COA posting treatment for GovCon transactions
